Holland Community Theatre

Committed to the Arts — Dedicated to the Power of Theatre

For more than sixty years, Holland Community Theatre has united people who believe in the transformative power of live performance. Since opening in 1960, we have worked toward one mission — to create theatre that inspires, educates, develops, and brings unforgettable experiences to our community. For us, theatre is more than a stage, costumes, or lighting. It is a place where stories are born and live in the hearts of those who witness them.

Our seasonal program includes three large Main Stage productions — in the fall, winter, and spring. We also present three family-oriented shows: a holiday production, a children’s performance, and a show featuring talented teen actors. Beyond these mainstage events, HCT offers workshops, staged readings of new plays, creative gatherings, community dinners, and membership celebrations. Our building at 50 West 9th Street is also available for rental — the perfect venue for events that deserve a uniquely artistic atmosphere.

Our Mission

We are committed to supporting theatre arts through education, training, and hands-on experience in the creation of live theatre. Every rehearsal and every hour spent behind the scenes is an investment in the cultural growth of the community that supports us. We believe that theatre has the power to unite people, spark dialogue, transform perspectives, and deliver emotional impact that cannot be replicated on a screen.

Our Story

Holland Community Theatre began by performing on the stage of Holland High School’s Performing Arts Center. When it became clear that we needed a home of our own, a group of volunteers purchased the former Grace Episcopal Church and transformed it into a theatrical space — complete with seating, a performance stage, and technical facilities. In 2019, to strengthen our connection to the community and better reflect our mission, we restored our historic name: Holland Community Theatre.

Powered by Volunteers

Holland Community Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization operated entirely by the dedication of volunteers — both onstage and backstage. It is a place created by people, for people.
